Dear NASA Members,
We have extended our deadline to reach a tentative agreement with NAIT to February 7.
Yesterday afternoon, your NASA bargaining team and Executive met to review the current state of negotiations and next steps. While Executive has authorized the issuance of a 72-hour strike notice if it becomes necessary, no strike notice is being issued at this time.
NASA and NAIT have agreed to return to the bargaining table next week. Negotiations are scheduled for Monday, February 2; Wednesday, February 4; and Saturday, February 7. We remain committed to working toward a resolution with the least possible disruption.
These discussions will be supported by mediator Deborah Howes.
I have received many emails from members requesting details about the status of specific issues. Because we are in formal mediation, we are not able to share that level of detail at this time. As always, NASA has remained committed to transparent communications and will continue to share as much information as possible as soon as it is appropriate to do so.
We will continue to keep members informed as discussions progress.
